Shaun Black

For Shaun J. Black, photography has always been more of a birthright; an instinctive passion than it has ever been a job. Despite a clear natural affinity for media, Shaun humbly credits his father, John, for inspiring him to pursue a career in photography based entrepreneurship.

Having completed a degree in Computer Studies his focus on photography remained evident. Following a life-changing family crisis in 2015, Shaun decided that he would experience life as he wanted; behind a lens.

He assumed management of John F Black Photography, the Territory’s most sought after and influential studio, and has since been credited with directing and shooting millions of social media impressions worth of imagery including acclaimed event, maternity and birthday shoots.

Shaun has also worked independently on dynamic projects including high-octane cinematography for upcoming urban brands and his own digital showcase.

The result of his natural talent and wealth of experience is a renowned photographer whose work represents some of the Virgin Islands’ foremost visual art. Now his genius is turned towards immortalising the incomparable beauty of moments in our Caribbean lives as still, photographic art.
